Salmon Research Center

The Salmon Research Center conducts research and development on concerning stock management, ecology, reproduction, and stock enhancement to restore and stabilize Pacific salmon resources, which have been declining as a trend in recent years. The center also conducts operations related to relevant international activities. The center improves artificial hatching and stocking techniques to maintain the Pacific salmon populations, and also conducts annual monitoring programs to understand the status of Pacific salmon resources in Japan. Further, the center strives to serve society of outcomes by disseminating our achievements to non-profit private hatcheries.
